Sydney Campus

Curtin University of Technology's School of Nursing and Midwifery initiated a research presence in Sydney in October 2007, officially launched during April this year. A Centre of Cardiovascular and Chronic Care has been established under the leadership of Professor Patricia Davidson as Director.

The Centre has enjoyed a successful six months, hosting several visiting scholars from Australia and abroad. It has also attracted significant grant funding from the National Health and Medical Research Council in conjunction with the Baker Heart Institute in Victoria and St Vincent's Hospital. Several new PhD students are also currently enrolled with the University for the 2008 academic year.

Centre for Cardiovascular and Chronic Care

The Curtin Centre for Cardiovascular and Chronic Care seeks to advance the vision and mission of Curtin University of Technology through promoting research, scholarship and clinical care to improve the health and well-being with cardiovascular and chronic conditions.

The Centre for Cardiovascular and Chronic Care was established in July 2007 on the Sydney Campus. The activities of the Centre for Cardiovascular and Chronic Care align with the goals and mission of Curtin University of Technology and the School of Nursing and Midwifery. The Centre activities are informed by discrete yet complimentary research and education informed by an emphasis on outcome driven, patient–centred, interdisciplinary research.
