AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT - NURSE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
- Continuing Professional Education Scheme for
Rural and Remote Nurses
The Continuing Professional Education Scheme for Rural and Remote Nurses
provides financial support to nurses/midwives living or working in rural and
remote areas of Australia to undertake Continuing Professional Education. - National Nurse Re-entry Scheme
The National Nurse Re-entry Scheme is for registered nurses/midwives and
enrolled nurses whose registration has lapsed and/or who have not practised
for three years or more. - Nurse Practitioner Scholarship Scheme
The Nurse Practitioner Scholarship Scheme seeks to assist registered nurses
who are undertaking a course of study in 2010 which will lead to endorsement
as a nurse practitioner by a nurse registration body in an Australian state or
territory. - Rural and Remote Undergraduate Scheme
The Rural and Remote Undergraduate Scheme provides funding for
undergraduate students from rural and remote areas of Australia who are
undertaking a Registered/Division 1 nursing degree.
A.I.F. MALAYAN NURSING SCHOLARSHIP
Inaugurated in 1994.
Note: The School of Nursing and Midwifery does not administer this Scholarship - it is administered on behalf of the Malaysian Government by the Australian Red Cross and provides tuition + allowances for Malaysian and Singaporean nursing students to study at Curtin.
BHP BILLITON IRON ORE NURSING SCHOLARSHIP PRACTICUM PLACEMENTS
- These scholarships are offered to a maximum of 8 recipients per year up to the value of $1,850 each to support travel, accommodation and living expenses.
- Scholarships are awarded specifically for a 3 week clinical practice placement.

CARBURY SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is offered in memory of Mr and Mrs EWD Carbury and $500 is awarded annually to a student in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Curtin University of Technology on a needs basis rather than for academic achievement. Selection will take into consideration the applicant's family circumstances and need for financial assistance. Applications should be submitted to Director, Undergraduate Studies by 30 May each year on the relevant application form.
Students are required to be enrolled in the Bachelor of Science (Nursing) course (i.e. Enrolled Nurse Pathway as well as Pre-registration students).
CLINICAL SPECIALISATION NURSING SCHOLARSHIPS
Registered nurses, midwives and enrolled nurses who are working within the Western Australian Government Health Industry, have a minimum of 2 years post registration experience, are Australian citizens or permanent resident of Australia, are invited to apply for the following scholarships:
- Postgraduate Diploma of Midwifery
- Postgraduate Clinical Specialisation courses including Mental Health
- Community Child Health
- Remote Area Nursing
- Courses for enrolled nurses that lead to recognised certificate
(NB: scholarships for EN to RN conversion will be advertised with undergraduate scholarships)
COMBINED UNIVERSITIES CENTRE FOR RURAL HEALTH

HELEN BAILEY SCHOLARSHIP
To assist nurses/midwives registered in Western Australia to complete a higher degree in a nursing/midwifery focus area. The emphasis is on clinical research which will have a positive outcome on clinical nursing in Western Australia.
